Terms of use

Last updated October 15, 2026. By using scopevote.com (“Scope”) you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

What Scope is

Scope is a free, nonpartisan information tool. It compares your answers to a short quiz with how members of Congress have voted and what they have said on the public record, and it shows races on a voter's ballot. It is built and run by an independent developer. It is not affiliated with any government body, party, campaign or candidate, and it does not endorse anyone. A match percentage describes how closely records line up with your answers; it is not advice on how to vote.

Accuracy, and what you should check

We work to make every data point accurate and link it to its public source. Even so, the data can be incomplete or out of date: the vote list covers the bills Scope tracks and runs through a stated date, some positions are read from public statements with the help of software and checked against the source text, and candidate lists for races can change. Use the source links to confirm anything that matters, and check your official election authority for your actual ballot, polling place and deadlines. The sample ballot is not an official ballot.

Using the site

Scope Pro (preview)

Some tools are labeled “Pro preview”. They are free while Pro is a preview. Pro may later become a paid plan, with its own price and terms shown to you before you pay. Nothing is charged today, and tools may change or move behind a paid plan with notice on the Pro page.

Our content and the public record

The code, design and wording of Scope are ours. The votes, bills and records Scope shows come from public sources and remain subject to those sources' own terms; links point to them. Please do not copy the site wholesale. Quoting and sharing individual results, pages and pictures with a link back is welcome.

No warranty, and limits on liability

Scope is provided “as is” and “as available”, without promises that it is error-free, always available or fit for a particular purpose. To the fullest extent the law allows, Scope and its operator are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for decisions made using the site, and total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the past twelve months (which is nothing for a free service). Nothing here limits rights you have under law that cannot be waived.

Privacy

How we handle information is explained in the privacy policy.

Changes, ending, and the law

We may change the site or these terms; the date above shows the latest version, and continuing to use Scope means you accept the update. We may suspend access that breaks these terms, and you can stop using Scope or delete your account at any time. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, and disputes will be handled in the courts located in Georgia, unless the law gives you the right to go elsewhere.
